As I'm sure you are all very much aware, this Monday marks the first day of finals week for UF. From now until Friday don't plan on being able to get a good spot at Library West, Marston, the Reitz or even the Hub (Who studies at the Hub though? Seriously?). Your best bet at finding a nice quiet place to make your Bio1 flashcards is probably going to be one of the lesser-known study spots like the Norman library or, if you're really brave, the law school library. Wherever you decide to sprawl out your laptop, three textbooks, and mound of Starbucks empties, be careful. This time of year campus is crawling with over caffeinated pre-med students too jacked up on adderall to notice they just tripped over your laptop cord and are now dragging your MacBook down the escalator.
For those of you lucky enough to get out and party before hell week, hopefully you made it to the Designer Drugs show at The Vault this past Wednesday. Michael (The one with the glasses) put on a great show, spinning both electro classics and easily identifiable top 40 tracks. I personally had a blasty-blast with some friends of GvG, the boys from The Gainesvillains.
Now, there's no doubting the Designer Drugs duo have some incredible talent. Their remixes are some of the most well known tracks out there. That being said, I left at the end of the night somewhat disappointed. Yes, the show was a ton of fun and the music was banging, but I didn't hear them play any of their smash hits. I had been rocking out to some of their older stuff for a solid ten days prior to the show and didn't even get to yell "cause it breaaaaks my hearrrrt!!". Not even once.
At any rate, if you missed out on the party, here are some of DD's most iconic remixes to help make you feel like you were there. Just blast this in your room, flip the lightswitch on and off quickly, have your roommate spill a cup of Redbull and vodka on your shoulder and BAM, you just saved yourself ten bucks.
Oh, and please exercise a little discretion as to where you listen to these tracks. You don't want to have to explain to that cute brunette chick in your Calc1 class why you're doing the chair dance with your headphones on, studying outside Subway.
- Cheers
